Notice Regarding non-Visa PINLess Debit Card Transactions

Please be advised that The Bank of Fayetteville allows non-Visa debit transaction processing, and does not require that all such transactions be authenticated with your Personal Identification Number (PIN).

These transactions are enabled through the PULSE Network, which is associated with your Bank of Fayetteville VISA® Debit Card. Examples of these types of transactions are listed below:

A purchase made at a merchant through the VISA network, where the amount is under $25, does not require a signature or PIN for authentication purposes. The PULSE network also allows PINless bill-payment debits and credits for specific merchant types such as utility, property management and government payments.

Please note that the terms and conditions of your agreement with us relating to VISA debit transactions do not apply to non-VISA debit transactions. For example, the additional limits on liability (sometimes referred to as Visa's zero-liability program) and the streamlined error resolution procedures offered on VISA debit card transactions are not applicable to transactions processed on a PIN-Debit Network*.

If you have any questions about PINless non-Visa debit transactions, please give us a call at (479) 444-4444 and ask for our Debit Card Department.

*VISA rules generally define PIN-Debit Network as a non-VISA debit network that typically authenticates transactions by use of a personal identification number (PIN) but that is not generally known for having a card program.
